I'm gunna say a manual tranny, pedal assy steering column (to get rid of the gear shift) and other little odds and ends. Grab the PCM out of the donor truck if you don't have someone that can program yours or you will have a cel on all the time because it won't be getting the signal. I don't know the compatibility of the tcase or the driveshaft.

Nope, not worth the hassle. Even if you pulled that headache of a project off, you'd still have the weaker engine. Your best bet is to scour Ebay, craigslist, auto trader, etc, and be prepared to travel. The G238 seems to be more common behind the 3.7. Finding an 08 w/ the 4.7 is ****ING!! rediculous, ask me how I know.

your best bet would be to find a 2500 or 3500 a year compatible with your 1500, that has a standard stick & then decide whether or not you want to tackle it

I would park it right next to yours & do the swap then & there
piece by piece

I'm pretty sure its been looked into (maybe attempted). Highly doubt the G56 and T-case would fit in a half ton.
