Right side of my trailer lights won't work
I have a 1995 dodge ram 3500 4x4 v10 flatbed. I have towed two gooseneck style horse trailers that on both my right lights did not work. My left lights the running, brake and turn signal worked fine. Was thinking it maybe an issue with a ground somewhere because my right head light is dim. All the lights on the truck work fine except for the dim headlight on the right. The truck has both a 7-pin and 4-pin. Any ideas where to start would be helpful. Thanks

My 2006 2500 does this same thing.... Took it to the dealer and they said it was a short out some where They quoted me $400 to fix it. So I just left it as is and just use my 2003 to haul trailers ;)

sometimes the wiring in the trailer can be different than the vehicle towing it
wires need to be switched in the trailer pigtail to match the towing vehicle

best way to check the tow vehicle female pigtail is to turn on the ignition,
then find your pin with the power source, using a device like this

grab a pencil or pen & a piece of paper, you are going to need to draw a diagram of the towing vehicles pigtail

1 of the pins should light up, your license plate light should also be working if the light switch is on, mark which pin is the hot one

then you can turn on your turn on your Left turn signal & find which pin makes that work
mark that pin on the diagram

continue trying different things & mark them down if it works

when you get to doing the Right side, do the same tests

that will tell you if you have power to both sides
if you do, it is something wrong with the trailer pigtail or the bulbs

Turned out to be a broken wire on a trailer. Guess it was just bad luck it was two trailers in a row.
