Question about buying 2500/3500 SRW crew cab
Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a Dodge Ram either 2500 or 3500. The diesel techs in my small town (Dripping Springs, TX) advised me to look at '99-'02, considering my price range, which is ~$9,000. Two of my requirements are
  • to have an actual crew cab with four regular opening doors, not a quad cab with suicide rear doors, and
  • SRW (single rear wheel), not a dually/DRW.
It appears, based on my limited research, that there aren't any models in that year range with four regular doors. It also appears that the 3500s are exclusively DRWs, and the 2500s are exclusively SRWs.

Can you all confirm that this is true? What year did they start making SRWs with true crew cabs (again, NOT quad cabs with the suicide rear doors)?

There was never any regular 4 door 2nd gen Ram's, 94-02. They did have ths suicide doors (quad cabs) and that's about it.

Well its true now they didn't make true 4 door diesel 2500 till 03. Now the ones your looking at are good trucks. And the eng are great. I have the same ISB 24 valve cummins in a 24 ft. Stregt truck that hauls gvw of 32000 lbs. And has over 175000 miles on it. Now the only prob I've had withit was fuel lift pump and that's common a water pump, new injectors two weeks ago. Not bad for a truck run 10 to 12 hours a day with mixed driveing and seven years in service.
