Fuel question
 
Ok I have a 97 with a 5.9 and it was sitting for about 4 months before I got it and everyonce in a awhile it will stall out when I've driven for awhile. It will start up back up again but its fustrating. what could it be?

I forgot to add that the guy I got it from put dual pipes on the cayatilitic converterso their is no muffler

Could need a tune up, or in my case; new fuel injectors.
But also your torque converter could be going bad, have your noticed any power loss?

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and stick it beneath a wiper, drive it around til it turns into a bad actor, and observe, if theres any flux in pressure, r2 the fuel pump. Your engine management computer is extremely sensitive to fuel pressure flux. 35 to 40 psi and rock solid. There is no fuel filter, so that will not be a cause. If it was parked with this new rot gut alcohol fuel mix, it may have corroded the brushes in the fuel pump. This new fuel kills fuel level sending units, if the vehicle is not in daily use, but in my experience, if you run a few tanks of premium through them, the fuel gauge comes back..
