A/C turns itself off when I stop, kicks back in when i go

Sorry guys, I havent been able to find the answer, so if its in here already and i didnt see it then my apologies!

I have 2003 Ram 1500 4.7
Have had a problem with the a/c shutting itself off when i come to a stop. works just fine while driving. nice and cold.

changed out the relays, checked all the a/c system fuses, system is charged. clutch engages on a/c unit... its strange... im stumped...

any one have experience with this?

THANKS ALOT IN ADVANCE!!

Sounds to me like the condensor fan isn't working. The lack of air moving over it at a stop would explain why the air gets warm and then cools off again when you get moving. TSB 08-002-003 addresses this issue. No guarantee this is the problem, but certainly worth looking into.

The condenser fan fuse (#39) in the power distribution center may open leaving the
condenser fan inoperative. This may be caused by a condenser fan with excessive current
draw or by water collecting in a trough in the fan shroud and freezing in cold weather,
which can prevent the fan from turning. This may illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Light
(MIL).

my old '04 Ram 1500 did this, it was the condensor fan. i think it was about 50.00 to fix it myself and it took less than 30 minutes.
