Magnaflow and Y, or just Magnaflow Tru Duals?

So I have been trying to figure out what to do. I'm ready to make a move, but stuck between the two. I have the factory duals now. First option is for the stock muffler to be replaced with the Magnaflow 24" and buy the Magnaflow Y- pipe and have it fitted in. Second option for the same price is to have true duals using a Magnaflow 22" Tru-X muffler. I have been told the x-pipe muffler even though being true duals will be quieter and more power than just replacing the stock y-pipe and muffler??? Its seems a better route not even needing a y-pipe. Just having 2 - 2.5in inlets into the tru-x muffler, then 2 - 2.5in out to the stock tail pipes....?? Any thoughts or feedback??? or experience??? with either??? Its an 09 CC Hemi Sport

I have the first option, It sounds good but not very loud. I paid about $250 installed.

Just went and got a True Dual exhaust installed. Kinda have mixed reviews. The sound couldnt be and better!!! I love the Magnaflow. Its their 18in Tru-X muffler. I cant tell if it robbed a little low end power, but It feels that way...... Anyone else felt a loss after an ehxuast upgrade? It got rid of the Y-pipe with 2.5in pipes from the cat to the muffler, then just used the stock exhaust with resonators..... It just feels off, and sluggish, but sounds amazing. I have the Fastman 84 TB, S&B cold air intake, and the Diablo 93 Tune. Any advice or opinions??

Man that blows, sorry to hear you lost power after spending that much $$.
My thoughts on the exhaust for these trucks is this.. The aftermarket crowd would have been selling "bolt on X or H pipe kits" if they made a cost effective improvement in power. There is a reason why they just upgraded the Y-pipe design and made muffer/tailpipe kits.

i reset the computer the other day and wanted to see if it needed to "learn" since im sure it was a drastic shock to the motor, since it probably leaned it way out at first.....feels like its stronger now. Any thoughts, or is it all in my head???

It's possible the ecu needed to adjust to the new mods. These newer car ecu's are amazing, my last car was a 2011 Scion Tc.. It also had an ECU that "learned" how you drive and such.. Anyways, I'm glad it worked out for you.

How did you 'reset' the computer?

arlockstedt 11-12-2012 07:56 AM

pulled the negative cable for about 30 mins......

Okay.

Even though the resident Chrysler Tech here doubts that action's benefits and and functionality, two Chrysler dealerships in my immediate area confirmed its operation.

Any changes you've noticed as yet, or you're still yet to put some mileage on it for an accurate assessment?
