ArmyofOne's '11 Big Horn Crew 4x4 Build Thread...A Legacy in the making...

Well now...LOL, what have we here? Here is what I started with on 4 August 2012:

BRAND NEW! WOOT!!! She was a left-over 2011, with 17,027 miles on her. She was never registered, only driven on a dealer plate and was driven for about a year by the GM of Tacoma Dodge.

First Mods in the dealership parking lot that day were:

-AVS Bug Shield
-Mopar seat covers
-RealTree Camo Gortex rear bench cover (for the mutt)
-Mopar front mud flaps
-K&N Panel Filter

...All of which were switched from ol' blue.

Then:

Partial Debadge. I will never fully debagde a truck again. I got tired of the "does it have a hemi" question and the "is it 4x4" I got ALL THE TIME with the blue one. So I left the Hemi and the 4x4 badges on this one, the "Ram 1500" and Big Horn ones came off. Anyone who knows Rams knows its a damn big horn.

A few days later, I added Total Load Control:

And new Brake Rotors.Ceramic Pads from PowerStop to assist with stopping my 7,000lb Bayliner:

(these were taken on my old truck, they were on the blue ram for about a week before I traded up)
To be continued...

After that, we started on a road trip around America

While on the trip, I couldn't take the factory halogens after having HID's. So while in Fort Worth Texas for RamFest:

^She got 6,000k Lows, 5,000k Highs and 3,000k Fogs :)

^Marv was diggin' the new Crew Cab. TONS of space.

Upon returning from vacation, The dealer called. My new Mopar Tonneau Cover was in. I went and picked it up. I actually am suprised but I do not have any pix of it as of now. Shame, as its a really nice cover.

Then a few days later, after installing the cover, I painted the calipers:

and that is pretty much where we stand as of today. Plenty more comin' though! So stay tuned!

Looking good Josh! You do realize that using the phrase 'legacy in the making' has placed you in the spot light and I "WILL" hold you to that claim. :str: You do know that.....Right ??? :D

So it begins!...Or rather.. it continues!

This is why I don't even do a build thread. I just do minor alterations if I win the lottery there will be build thread and a new truck thread lol

It's not a word to be taken lightly. But you know me, and you know I don't do anything small. My first boat was a 26', my first truck was a FULL SIZED RAM...etc...etc... I will NOT be getting rid of this ram any time soon. I can't afford to eat shit on it and I would if I got rid of it. When it is paid off and the suspension is old and worn out in about 10 years, I will do a lift and gears. :)

Indeed my friend. I am saving up for the '13 headlights. I need some projectors, my HID's aren't doing so hot, they are working ok, but the quad setup requires drilling 1" holes in the backs of the headlight housings (the caps for the bulbs), and I cant get them to seal back up. My headlights fog whenever the humidity is high (which is ALL WINTER in the PNW).

Well I am not sure they have an HID bulb for these 2013 headlights just yet. It is a pretty strange bulb. HIR2 or 9012 I think. I am trying to sell mine you know.

Anywho can't wait to see more of the build!

GhostR1der 11-09-2012 10:37 PM

I used silicone on the back of my quads am after about a month a starting thinking WTH am I gonna do when I need to replace bulbs lol. Mine are sealed up with no problems though.

Arth...you have a PM bud...

My problem with buying your lights is A) I am NOT cutting into my factory wiring harness. I will crack open my headlights and do a retrofit first. B) Projector or not, I will never go back to halogen lighting.
