Has anybody heard if they will offer a mega cab with the long bed anytime soon or ever? THANKS!

The only one of those I ever saw was the Longhauler concept. I doubt it would ever see production though. Plus it is huuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

I know it has been discussed. The problem is 1. The the consumer wants/needs, although consumers would like a longbed it is hard selling them because the price will be higher and they wont look the best, so customer base may not be as big as Chrysler would want to develop a long bed. 2nd is law compliance, they are laws on how long a truck can be with a trailer etc. They are some rules the length with a trailer and without etc. I don't know the laws I just know that they are some. 3rd to comply with the rules and to make sure the truck's frame can be strong enough for the added stress i would believe it would be a 5500 class, which less dealers carry due to the fact in most states you must have a CDL license to buy and own one. Also dealers must have their service and parts department certified to sell 4500 and up trucks (commercial), and I know my dealer didnt due to the fact it would cost us 100k plus to be certified and the profits werent there. So we are only certified in 3500s and lower.

off topic a bit

The 3500, 4500, & the 5500 models would make good 5th wheel rigs
the Long Hauler because of the 100 gallon tank, ( i believe that i read some where ), would make great 3 & 4 vehicle haulers

or just moving boats from race to race

California, which is strict:
CLass 2 or B drivers license is required if you have AIR BRAKES, or drive an ambulance, school bus, or fire truck, & maybe a 10 passenger van , or anything just above a Class C

With a Basic Class C License:
• a 2-axle vehicle with a GVWR of 26,000 lbs. or less
• a 3-axle vehicle weighing 6,000 lbs. or less gross
• a motorized scooter
• any housecar 40' or less
you can tow another vehicle up to 9,000 pounds, with certain restrictions concerning the towing vehicles size
( :LOL: something like no VW bugs can tow a 7,000 pound trailer )

================================================== ==============

you won't see many of these on a regular Dodge Dealership lot
