2009-2012 JBA Headers Owners, Opinions needed (Gaskets)

Hello Everyone,

Well, I have already introduced myself a while ago in the newbie sub forum. Now I would really appreciate your help in this issue.

I bought My truck 2 weeks ago and I am in the process of ordering some JBA headers to install on the truck. I have heard and searched in some previous threads that the gaskets that comes with the headers are not that good in the terms of (leaking, tightend, etc...). I saw that some people are using the OEM gaskets with the JBA headers on their install.

Now that I am hesitated, I don't know whether I should install the headers with the JBA gaskets or should I install it with OEM gaskets.

Your Help will be really appreciated.

Thank you RamForumz members :)

I haven't bought these yet but I have done a lot of research about them. Everybody I've seen do this instal has used the OEM gaskets. Some just use the ones that are on there now, depending on how old the truck is, and some have gone to the dealership and bought a new set. EVERYONE agrees that they are much better than what JBA sends.
Since your truck is still so new, I'd just use the ones that are on your truck. Are you doing the instal yourself??

Get the OEM Mopar gaskets and start from new with a fresh set of headers. Sure, as the reply above suggested, your gaskets on the OEM manifold may be fine because your truck is still new, but if they get damaged during removal or they are not in the condition you anticipated, then it's a piece-of-mind having a new set ready. They are by no means expensive.

JBA gaskets that come with the headers look and feel cheap.....real flimsy is my most accurate description.

I did this not too long ago and used new OEM gaskets, they were about $20 for both, cheap piece of mind knowing you won't get stuck in the middle of the install wishing you bought them lol.

I slapped in JBA's gaskets....zero issues to date.

I used my OEM gaskets, on both of the trucks I've done JBAs on.

FromFordtoRAM: I am not sure yet if I am going to do the install myself. It's going to depend on time that I got since Finals are on the way.

Will51: If the gaskets are this cheap, I wouldn't mind buying a extra set just in case something happened. Thanks for your feedback. :D

You guys helped me a lot. I really appreciate it :). I think I would go ahead and use the OEM gaskets, For $20, I would buy an extra set just in case.

Thanks.
