09 Ram Rollover
I purchased this truck from State Farm.

The engine compartment is not damaged. After removing the top and gaining access to the front seat I get a "damaged key" code when I try to start it.

Is there any way to reset and get it to start without reprogramming the ECU?

Here are some pics.

I plan to use the drivetrain in a '57 Bel Air.

i would try to find a way to toss the stock computers into a trash can, you won't need to pass smog with a 1957 Chevy
there must be a Mopar racing computer in the MOPAR PERFORMANCE catalog

Try disconnecting the battery for a half hour or so.

I feel like a total dumbass now.

I went by the Dodge house today and talked to one of the mechanics.

I took the ignition "black box" and the keys and explained my problems.

He looked at me kinda funny and said this is the key and handed me the fob.

I admit, I'm an old school guy. Been building hot rods for 35 years. I'm kinda out of touch with the new technology. I had no idea that the fob was the "key".

I'll plug it back in tomorrow and see what happens.

It's alive.

Charged the battery and it started right up. Drove it around the ranch yesterday.

I will be parting out everything but the drivetrain if anyone is interested.

Sorry David, but they won't let a newbee PM. 11-20-2012 04:49 PM

That's going to be an awesome build! Do you have any pictures of past Hot Rods you have done?
