ive only used the 87 octane tune so far and it is already alot better than it was before. the transmission shifts at the perfect time and there is no stupid upshift lag anymore. I am going to be using the 91 performance tune later this week after i fill my tank with 91. ill let you know how it feels

That is what I have experienced with other tuners also.

What does superchips have? 87, 89, and 91?

SnoylCC5 11-25-2012 10:06 PM

87, 91 performance, tow, and mileage xs.

i am curious about the 91 performance and the xs. im going to try them all but people have told me that i will experience just as good of gas mileage with the 91 as i will with the xs but it is more fun to use the 91. i want to try and mess with it some more and change some things.

That is interesting! I wonder if that is what peopel say about the trinitys?

Don't use the mileage xs tune as it sucks. The tune I have used the most is 87, it is a huge improvement over stock in every way. If you want to disable mods just select advanced and turn it off before installing the tune. The 91 tune is absolutely amazing however I did not want to be buying 91 octane gas on a regular basis. I do run with 89 fuel even with the 87 tune.

ransram- will running 89 on the 87 tune hurt my engine at all?? :4-dontknow: and i will probably try out the 91 tune once just to see how it is, but i am not sure if i will want to buy 91 every time

No problem running the 87 tune with 89 octane however you should not go the other way around, so no 89 octane with the 91 tune. If you do use the 91 tune make sure you run a couple of tanks of 91 before loading the 91 tune.

I run the 93 tune 99% of the time. If I'm towing/hauling more than ~1,000 lbs for more than a few miles I tune to the 87 tune and keep the 93 octane fuel in the tank. Easy and works great.
