want to level by lowering rear

just had a question about putting shackles on my truck. all i have seen is 1 to 2 inch drop. the rear of my 06 1500 is racked pretty high i dont think 2 inches would make it level. anyone know about how far i need to lower it to level it out and are there any shackles out there more than 1 to 2 inch drop.

No shackle kit will go that low, you'll need a flip kit. My rear has drop shackles to give you an idea.

flip kit? by that you mean like the old school method of flipping the springs and bolting them under the axle?

your truck sets great. how does it ride? and are you able to tow much? i dont tow hardly ever but just a month ago or so i drove 160 miles or so round trip and towed back a tiburon i bought. and also towed my girls mustang gt out to her aunts the night before while i had a uhaul trailer rented. wish it wasnt at night bc that would have been great pictures lol dodge pulling a ford. anyway so yeah im just wondering if i could still be able to tow and load things in the bed. i have 2 bikes also i lug around sometimes.

I can still tow and haul stuff just fine, I didn't remove the overload springs. It rides as well as any leaf spring vehicle.

thats good to know. i can only assume it squats alot if you hook up to a trailer right?

Depends on how heavy. With a 6000lb trailer and a bunch of shit in the back it plops the rear down just under level. Alot of it will depend on how balanced what you're towing is. If the weight is closer to the tongue the truck will squat more.

This was before I put in the SRT front springs (they lower the front a little):

Little bit of squat but not a helluva lot.

wow nice. i expected way more than that. what did the kit run you? i dont remember exactly what the kit consists of but its mainly just a few long u bolts right?
