3rd Gen Seats

Not sure if this has been covered. I find the 3rd gen seats to be much better than what the 2nd gen's offer. Yet I prefer the 2nd gens...crazy. If anyone has done this swap, what is needed?

I would have to suggest that you actually measure the passenger seat track width &
the actual seat width, in your vehicle
then do the same at either a dismantling yard, or go to a Meet & Greet & measure the seats in the Rams, hell, even look at the Gen 4 Rams

of course you will want to measure the same type seat that you want to have
buckets, split bench, full bench

The mounting holes can be moved, heck, the different holes may even already be there
you just have to look

To be honest, I can't find a 3rd gen in the yard...let alone a 2nd gen. I have the 40/20/40 split bench.

I see some really nice 3rd gen 40/20/40 split bench seats on eBay, but i'm asking tools to do a simple measurement (sp?) and won't do.

I put some newer Dodge seats in my 1994. They were from a 01 2500 ext cab or something. I had to do a ton of measuring, cutting and welding to make them work but it was my only option! The original seats were super trashed. Now its sooo much better but it took a lot of work to make them mount nice and solid. With the amount of work it takes you might as well get the seat you want. I saw a new Ford 150 commercial truck that came in a friends shop and I dream of putting those seats in my truck. I need some friends that work in a junk yard! lol

I hope you can fab some brackets.

I would keep the 2nd gen seats, they are more comfortable and hold up better than the 3rd gen seats.
