color matching bumpers

hey guys, so I have my ram 1500 tradesman and im wanting to color match the bumpers. I got tradesman because was on sale and cheaper than express thats why, anywhy i figured id paint front end and black out the grille while color matching outside grill trim and front 2 piece bumper. however the paint shop said they cant paint the upper front bumper because its "textured" plastic and it would crack. I thought i could buy an express front bumper instead but seems the hardwares dont match up.

any suggestions? im stumped:att:

You can get a non-textured upper bumper cover from a Laramie, SLT, or Outdoorsman and have it painted.

^what he said.

It is possible to paint textured bumpers but often does not turn out well.

To swap to the sport/express bumper you need all the brackets/etc. It's pretty expensive ~$1,000 but does look great. I want to do this one day...

What about if you just have the chrome bumpers?

chrome bumpers you can just sand down, prime, paint and clear. Most colors you can find in a spray can. if you want the best result and can get a color match powder coating is the way to go. I didn't have time to sand my rear chrome bumper down so I just went over it and its held up pretty good so far. Ive had to touch up a few spots so far.
