Please help me!!!

I have a 96 ram 1500 4x4. I just got the truck a couple weeks ago. Its has about 205xxx miles on a 5.2 and a 5spd. When i got it it wouldnt go over 3000 rpm in any gear or nuetral, but it didnt have any exhaust on it. Now ive had a brand new exhaust on it for a little over a week and it started doing it again. Except now it also dies sitting at idle after 15 to 30 seconds of starting it. It has new O2 sensors on the front and back of the cat but uts throwing a code for the front o2 sensor already. I took it out of the cat and it didnt die. Does anyone know what would be causing this to happen, or why the sensor went bad already? Ive already tried cleaning the IAC valve and the throttle body, and ive checked all the vacuum lines. It makes a loud noise when it dies that sounds like a vacuum leak but its really hard to tell the difference because its got a tb spacer and k&n filter. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Start by checking fuel pressure and volume. What exactly was the code you were getting?

I was getting P0500 and P0505. Which is the front o2 sensor and the iac valve

Have you ever had a plenum gasket problem or loose oil with no puddles or smoking? When you changed the exhaust did you get new cats too? Reason I ask is it sounds like the cats may be clogged. Had a similar issue with my '98.

I looked down in the intake while i had the throttle body off and it didnt have any oil down there, as it wasnt puddled up or real wet down in the intake and i tapped on the belly pan with a long screwdriver and it definatly wasnt a stock thin flimsy pos that dodge put on them, it looked like the hughes aluminum piece you can get. So i marked that out. And it has a new cat converter. Bc my dad asked me that question too. AND BTW THE TRUCK WONT START AT ALL!!,, since i cleaned and polished the throttle body and put a new iac valve on it then took it for a test drive, and this was in 2 miles time. I was wandering if since its a high milage 318 if it possibly jumped time? And im also wandering, i have my old 95 ram 1500 4x4 still. I wrecked it but the 360 omly has 30xxx miles on it. Im really wanting to swap it into my 96 1500 4x4, but my 95 was an automatic and my 96 is a 5 speed. I really love the 5 speed compared to the auto and dont wanna lose it in favor of the auto. But if i put the 360 in the 96 will the computer from the 95 auto work in my 96?? Due to the tranny difference, and the difference from the obd1 in the 95 to the obd2 in the 96? And if not can someone please refer me to a place to get the ECM i need to finally get this done. And also anything else i need to change so i can do it right and be done with that particular project the first time.

Ive bought new O2 sensors that were bad. If the truck runs without it in, return it. Most likely the O2 sensor is giving the PCM a wacky reading.

Readings from the sensors won't cause a no-start because the PCM is using open loop mode to calculate the fuel curve on start up. However, an internally shorted sensor of any kind could be pulling down the 5V reference circuit.

Judging by the fact you took the sensor out and the truck ran, I would think you have a plugged converter. This could also cause an O2 code to set.
