R/T Mirrors on Express?

I have 2012 Express with base mirrors and wanted to install R/T or Sport model mirrors. Mine did not come wit turn signals, so basically trying to see if there is a way of making new ones work on my truck.

I seen pics of Sport mirrors installed on Express but don't know if they got them to work or not.

Thanks for the help!

Lots of stuff on the forums. People would usually just tell you to search and not offer any help.

Buuuuut I can help. I installed Big Horn turn/puddle light mirrors on my RAM Express. The plugs are there already for the mirrors but they cant be activated. I've called MOPAR several times and they dont know why the option isnt given in our technician systems to turn it on.

So, long story short, I had to splice the turn signals to a ground in the dash and run the wire to the headlight turn signals. The puddle lights I ran to the same ground and tapped into the dome light.

Thanks for the info! I was hoping plug would work, really didn't want to do to much splicing.. Guess I'll wait a little, they might release the option to the tech to be able to turn it on. Seems like it shouldn't be a big deal.

I think Chrysler has their heads up their butts with this whole side mirror thing. Dont hold your breath. They also say the side marker/puddle light tow mirrors wont work with the 1500s at all unless they're equipped from the factory. That was a load of BS. Plug and play in less than 10 minutes on my dad's brand new 12 a few months ago. "dont work" my butt

Now that's what I was thinking, it's plug and play. Now they are telling me mine comes with one plug and there should be 2 plugs for mirrors with signals... Didn't take it apart so can't say it's true.

Went to the local Ram stealership and they told me that 2012 Express comes with 2 plugs and they don't see why those mirrors shouldn't work.

So, I guess I'll go ahead and order me some and see if they will work... lol...

Its true. I work for Chrysler/Jeep and tried everything I could to turn on the plugs. Yes the door module has both plugs and it looks identical to the ones in the Big Horn but no you cannot turn them on yet. Call MOPAR and ask them. Hardware is there to do it but you cant get the computer to work with them if not equipped from the factory. Get ready to splice.

Ok, thanks for the help. I guess I'll get them installed and plugged in. Don't really want to do any splicing so they're gonna just be there for the looks. If I find somebody that knows how to do it I would go ahead and get it hooked up but for me it's pretty much no go...

Found this on another thread, might need to PM him and see if this is legit... :4-dontknow:

Yeah they are plug and play. There's a module in each door that you'll plug the new mirror into. I have attached the Chrysler removal documents for the door panel and the mirror. They are one of the easier mirrors to replace. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I have done it. For multiple customers.

Yeah if that guy figured it out it would save half this forum a hell of a lot of time. All of us are following guides and tutorials and this guy has a plug and play solution? Sounds like he's holding out or full of shit.

Mopar can be dumb some times but I checked every way I could think of before having to splice as a last resort.
