need injectors for my 2003 5.9

My mechanic seems to think I need injectors (after the new lift pump and injector pump). Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand, etc to get. Would this be a good time to get an aftermarket one that might be cheaper or better? Does anyone have some new take offs that they would want to sell?

Thanks

make sure you really need them cause they will cost you a bundle..i was told that my 04 2500 with 130k miles needed injectors..price each at dealer was 895.00 my truck had lost power and would barely go at all...turned out it was my power module. unplugged it and now truck runs like a rabbit...

895!!!! holy !#$% thats expensive. Ive always went through diesel specialties and got mine and it was 1800 for all 6 on my 03 . About 2 hrs later they were all installed. Install is simple and u can do it yourself. But check the wiring harness under your valve cover first cause it has been know to get pinched and cause a faulty injector reading. It runs through the gasket actually i believe its part of the gasket. Also when i bought mine on my 03,04.5,and my 06 i just had diesel specialties test em too and they give ya a break on price if ya have them test em. Hope it helps and i wouldnt just replace 1 or 2 do em all that way you dont have problems down the road. I always use bosch injectors as well. And when you do it make sure you get the fuel rods as well dont reuse the old ones. Also i just sold my spare set i had to a guy so cant help ya there.

I've read that Exergy makes good injectors, and yeah, they aren't cheap.

I put the stockers in mine when I needed them. Spoke to a cummins specialist and he recommended the stockers so that is how I went. He also said to change out the tubes that supply the injectors.

Good luck

Thanks guys. I did replace all of them. That seemed to be my problem. I had to replace the lift pump, injection pump and injectors and tubes. I thought I was going to have to get a loan to get it out of the shop. Then, I had to go buy tires. I went to get an alignment yesterday and I need about 6 suspension parts replaced. I am probably going to be over $6000 in the last 3 weeks.

There are updated tie rod and lower ball joints for your vehicle. They are much stronger and wiill probably last longer than the old style. Make sure you check with the dealer. I replaced mine on my 04 1/2 and was a lot more satisfied with the size and strength of the new updated parts. Sorry, I don't have the part numbers any longer.
