1997 dodge 318 exhaust
Hi all I have a 1997 dodge ram 318 std , it has 2 oxy sensors on it
no egr valve . are there kits I can add after the cat converter
or do you start from the engine . I get great gas mileage now
will the new exhaust change that ?
As long as you dont go too big on your primaries or intermediates, for example: moderately sized headers and cat back pipes but stay with the same size Y pipe and your gas mileage and off the line torque will not take a hit. You will, however, gain a noticeable amount of oomph. There are TONS of cat back kits, but I still think the best route to take (and the one I always take with my vehicles) is to take it to a local shop that hires folk who know what they are taking about and/or run similar stuff on their own trucks. Let them know what you are looking for in sound and price and they will usually be more informative than the adds in the racing parts catalog..
I usually run a 3 inch cat back on my 318s.
