New Engine...what all to ask?

The 3.7 engine in my 02 Dodge Ram didn't last very long.....140k.....
I'm getting a rebuilt put in this week. I want to insure my mechanic 'does' all he can while 'in there'....For example, I would presume that he'll install new spark plugs, but can't (won't) assume he will.

I want to insure he knows (by me inquiring) that I know what to look for.
I'll ask him to (1) replace the o-rings on the fuel rails (2) replace hoses (3) serpintine belt is fairly new, so I don't need a new one..(3) Clean the throttle body (4) flush the heater core....etc.....

The long block comes from a reputable company.
Give me your list of things to inquire about....
thanks!!

if it is a reputable shop doing the install
ask them to call you if they think something should be done, that was not covered in writing, also ask them to give you any replaced parts, like the old spark plugs

i would add both radiator hoses & new thermostat, as long as you are having the radiator thoroughly cleaned out
Have them back flush the heater core too, perfect time to get it done

Install a new water pump while your at it. Its not fun installing a new (junkyard/"rebuilt") engine and finding out the water pump has just been painted silver and has bad bearing.

Also, i would install a new MAP sensor. Some people clean them, i would just put a new one on to give you optimal efficancy. Not necassary, but just something i would do.
