Grinding noise help
My 2009 Ram 1500 has a loud grinding noise and vibration that sounds like the front. I just changed the brakes and still can hear it. The last Ram I sold we replaced both wheel bearings and this sounds different. The bearings made more of a popping noise on the last truck but only grinding.

I'm looking for help with the same problem. Mine grinds as well from the front, sounds like the front left. It grinds bad when I'm in 2H drive then quiets down in 4H drive. Problem is also that my 4H drive is no longer working because of this issue.

People said it might be a loose brake pad, checked, it is good. A friend with an older Ram said he had the same problem, had his front axle (left) changed out and it was fixed and he got his 4WD back. How much would something like that cost? Would I be able to do it myself? (Basic experience: once installed a lift kit on a Jeep)

Dodge has a recall for that.

Took mine in for this same problem. About 4 months ago and they fixed it. It was a recall that they didn't send out any notices for.

There is a recall for the tie rods, if you haven't done those yet, I would let the dealer check it out.

I just got off the phone with my dealership's service department and they didn't have any recalls on my vehicle. Problem is I moved from Anchorage, Alaska to Bethel, Alaska. There are no road systems to Western Alaska. They had to ship my truck here by barge. We only have local auto repair shops. Man, I miss getting my truck serviced at the dealer's shop. Anyways, we have a Napa store and that's it. Be cheapest for me to find out what part is needed, by that from Napa, then get it changed out by one of the shops here.
