2012 Ram wheel question
Hey everyone, I'm sure this question has been answered, but I couldn't find any definite information. I was looking at ordering some replica srt10 22's for my truck. (No one has them in my town, so it wouldn't be so bad here:smileup:) Anyways, I was reading the information about them, and it says in bold red writing. "Will not fit any 2012 Dodge RAM" but says Dodge Ram 1500 2wd and 4wd 2002-2011. I wasn't aware there were any changes to anything that would change a wheel bolting up. It says it has a +25.4 mm offset.. And one more thing, I read that some people have rubbing issues, but it seems like usually it's the 4wd trucks that do. I plan on running 305/45/22 with these wheels, should I encounter any rubbing? Thanks in advance and be patient with me I'm a noob around here lol

According to what I am seeing they have the same bolt pattern. The 12 uses up to a 20" wheel in production, so the issue may be the taller and wider 22" wheel. There may be a concern with the backspacing allowing the wheels to contact the steering components.
Hope this helps ya,

The local wheel place around here says that he will let us try a wheel on our vehicle to see if there is a clearance issue before purchase. You might want to pose that possibility to your local tire/wheel place.

Here is the response I received as to why it won't work on a 2012 ram..what's changed in the last 2 years?

we've been told they need spacing in the front..won't clear control arms..plenty of info about this on dodge ram forums.. regards, rick - customwheelsmarket

Also got this response. Surely someone here knows..

Can't find the thread now..but it is on ramforumz..and also had two customers return because of clearance issues in the front

1/4" spacers can help you get them out a tad to fit with your truck

So do we have a definitive reason here..? They changed the suspension design for the 2012-up Rams..? I too would like a set of SRT10 22's. For sure just a 1/4" spacer for the front is all that's needed..?
