De-Badged - Re-Badged - Striped
The first thing I did within the first couple of weeks of ownership was to remove the RAM 1500 from the doors. I really dig the cleaner look. After that came the hash mark stripes on the hood/fenders. I really like the color of my truck, but being as big as it is, it really needed something to break it up and add a little accent to it. I think that fit the bill just fine. The B-pillar tape was also recently removed. The more I looked at it, the more I hated it. Especially when Iíd see Ford trucks with it on. It had to go. Finally came a set of custom badges to replace the obnoxiously large RAMís heads that go on the grill and tailgate. I topped that off with a ďHEMI 5.7Ē badge reminiscent of the SRT8 logo on the Challengers, etc. I may end up changing out the tailgate one. Iím not sure I really like the blue of the stripes in it. Who knows...

Even though it came with the factory tint on the rear doors and back glass (itís not really tint, but smoked), I opted to tint over that with 20% to help keep things cooler in the summer. Here in southeast Texas, it gets plenty hot, and it made a huge difference when I had this done. I also had the sunroof tinted with 5% as well. More heat than you might think comes from that. The front doors were tinted by the dealer with 35% prior to me taking delivery of it (darkest you can legally get on the front doors in TX). I also had the windshield brow done with 5% to minimize visor use and to further help keep things cool in summer. Visibility out the back is adequate at night, and the backup camera is a must for these trucks even without tint.

Wheels/Tires - Part# 60210255511
I sold the factory 20ís and went with a set of 22x10 SRT10 polished wheels. Iíve always loved them, and I think they really pop on my truck. I got them from Factory Reproductions, and am overall very pleased with the service I received from them. I had an issue with one of the wheels being out-of-round, but they took care of it. Dodge center-caps were used in place of the smooth ones that came with the wheels. The wheels are wrapped in a set of 305/45 Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires. Love them. Awesome in wet weather, and they are even better dry. That, and they ride just as smooth as the factory Goodyear 20s that were on it from the dealer. Best set of tires Iíve owned to date including any of my previous Dodge trucks. I originally put a set of Nittos on it, but after 3 times going back to re-balance them, with it pulling to the right as well, I returned them and got the Yokos. Nothing against Nitto, they just didnít work out for me. I must have got a bad set.

Thank you! It's definitely a labor of love. Well... that, and a ton of Surf City Garage products :)

So the factory tint on the back is 20% and adding 20% on top would make it 4%. Pretty dark?? I was thinking to do 35% all around.

Honestly, it's no where near as hard to see out of as you may think. I don't have any trouble at all, even at night. I don't know what the factory tint is actually rated at, but I would say it's closer to 35% than 20%. Next time I get the oil changed I'll ask them to put their meter on the rear door window and see what it specs out as. Kinda curious now...
