Would this tire/wheel combo look stupid on my truck? Honest opinions.

Hi all. I've got a million things going through my head. Trying to decide whether or not to trade my truck and if I'm not going to, what direction I want to go with it. I have a long thread in the lowering section so I'll keep is short here. I'm thinking about lowering my truck a little...probably 2" front and back to keep it level. I"m pretty sold on the lowering but I can't decide what I want to do about tires. Right now, I'm leaning towards looking for some street/sport tires in 305/50/20 for more of a sport truck look. I found this combo on CL and can get a fair deal in them. What do you guys think they would look like on my 2004 quad cab 4x4 lowered 2"?

I like the wheels because they are 22x9.5 and resemble SRT rims. The tires are sized 305/40/22, or 31.5" tall. I think there is too much fender space as my truck sits now with 33" tires. If I lower it 1.5-2" and put 1.5" shorter tires on it, it's going to be about the same. So I'm afraid they are too short. What do you guys think?

I think those wheels would look real good on your truck

Okay.

They look very similar to the Nitto NT05 I looked at about a month ago for my Tahoe.

Cheers.

Thanks for the input all. I'm not so much concerned about the wheels. I'm more concerned about the tires. I'm afraid that the low profile of the tire combined with the space between the tire and fender will look stupid. My truck is a 4x4 and seems to sit up really high and I only intend to lower it 2".

This is what I would like my truck to look like. I can't find any info on it but I believe those are 22x10 SRT rims. I just don't know what size tires are on it or how much drop it has. According to the thread, it's a 4x4 but that's about all I know.

The other thing I'm concerned about is the ride. One of my motivators for swapping to a street tire setup is ride quality. I don't know from experience but I don't see how the 40 series tire can ride too good.

The 420S are a great tire, and since you're looking at a 50 series you'll have plenty of side wall which means it'll be a much better ride. I was running the 265/45R22s and they had enough meat to keep the ride tame and worked quite well on a 2/4 drop. A 40 series will still have enough flex since these are a soft wall tire, so not great for towing, but it's in the 30-35 series that you really start feeling the bumps.

I have been considering 305/50/20 if I keep my stock rims but the wheel and tire that I posted photos of is 305/40/22. I like the look but I am really considering just sticking with my OEM 20's and the 305/50. I would be all over the 22's if they were 305/45 but I'm really afraid of the ride quality of the 305/40 and that they will be too short for what little drop I am doing.

Anyone got any thoughts on the white truck? How much drop do you think it has?
