Will nitrous rip me apart?

Ok so I have a stock 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi with stock rear end, stock trans with a beefed up torque converter I had built and put in. My question is when i put this nitrous system on my truck what is the chances of it ripping my internals apart? I have the option of 75,100,125 shot with my kit as well...Im not looking to break land speed records but just want some GIDDUP under my ass more than I have now. If email is easier i would love if anyone had some good advice. christopher.steerman@ddg85.navy.mil

A stock truck can run a 100 wet shot with not much more than a plug swap. It must be a wet shot since we don't use a maf so the computer doesn't just add fuel based on a higher air density like ford or chevy. For the most reliability when running nitrous you should run 1-2 stage colder speak plugs, preferably the non-protruding brisk plugs, but the ngk iridiums are just fine, I run them myself. For 75 you should run stock timing, then pull 1 degree of timing for every 25hp, but remember, that's from stock timing, if you run something like the 93 diablo tune, then they advance the timing, so it needs to be retarded.

ok so just to be clear, 100 shot will not tear my transmission or rear end aprt correct? and the block should hold it just fine?

You're be just fine as long as you do the plug swap and pull timing.

Don't spray through the shifts or into 4th either, that will hurt the trans.
