throttle on1998 dodge ram 1500 cc 4x4 5.2 magnum

hey guys im new here. my first truck was a 1994 dodge ram, ever since i owned my 1994 ive been a dodge fan but lately my 1998 ram is giving me alot of issue through the drivetrain and motor. i found out about the intake manifold plate needs replaced with gasket that causes the rough idle, i now have an issue where if you rev it, the idle chokes down really low to the point of almost stalling, but it doesnt. rpms slowly rise back up, any ideas on what it could be? my throttle body ports are clean i checked the iac valve and pulled it and the motor stalled like its suppose to, not sure what else to check on. i want to take it to the dealer ship dodge but i dont want to burn money that i dont have, any help is appreciated, im going insane on the thought of my truck dieing  thanks guys

The problem is only at idle? No issues when driving?

I think its my iac valve on the throttle body

That's what I'd lean towards (the IAC), I brought a few home from work and they all did the same thing. Spent $40 on a new one and the problem was gone.

I don't think it's the TPS, but it could be.

If you think it could be the TPS....
I had issues with a dancing tach reading while I would be driving steady at cruising speed. When I looked for a test to check the TPS all I got was "put a new one in its place, if the issue goes away, it was the TPS". I took my TPS out an connected the leads of my old simpson analog multi-meter to the terminals of the sensor and moved it slowly back n forth. Set on high ohms, the meter showed a dead spot on the sensor, in other words, not a steady rise an fall in resistance. So with confidence, one new TPS and 2 years worth of random head scratching about the mystery, DONE.

Food for Thought.
