Glass water stains

Sorry if this is in wrong section. Couldnt find a detail thread/category.
EDIT: found it. Mods please move my thread to http://www.ramforumz.com/forumdisplay.php?f=38

I have well water and my filter is not working. On my list to fix but believe it wont fix the water totally. Anyways I have thick water stains on my windows. Nothing is taking them off. Hardcore stuff :(

I heard some #0000 steel wool works but would like to try a good "magic" product first and limit the elbow grease. CLR dont do a dang thing. Stains are so thick you can see ridges on the edges of the spots.

Any suggestions? Spot x anygood?

Thanks for the suggestions:smileup:

we use hi-sheen at work and on my truck. I've never used it on hardcore water stains but it's worth a shot. It's industrial glass cleaner. Let us know how you make out. I think there is washing/waxing/detail section somewhere. But i think this thread is fine for now.

The scrubbing bubbles shower cleaner takes water spots off my shower glass like magic. I often wondered if its safe if it gets on paint, if your careful I know it'll take water residue off no problem. I don't even scrub the glass in the shower and it cleans perfectly!

hot steam will take them right off

#0000 steel wool with plenty of soap & water will do just fine. Not a lot of elbow grease involved, but a fair amount of time. Then hit the glass up with a polish called liquid glass, AMAZING stuff. Just my $.02.

The steel wool will work. Try some IPA spray, 50/50 water/alcohol mix first. You can go stronger, but the stronger you go the quicker the alcohol will evaporate. You can also try using soap/water then scrape the window with a straight razor. I would do this when I would install window tint and it removed everything.

I use a clay bar to remove water stains from my glass but I haven't tried it on stains as bad as yours.
