Exhaust choices

My local muffler shop said $240.00 for a magnaflow installed on my truck. Is that a reasonable price? Also does any one run or know of any one that runs the dynomax vt mufflers? http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.php?muffler=vt

I installed in 30min a mufflex (magnaflow made to replace my trucks OEM exhaust) dods18 stainless exhaust on my truck a year ago, cost me 260$.

So $240.00 is a good price for it getting installed. I am thinking of going with a 24" magnaflow but I would like to learn more about the dynomax vt before I buy anything. I like the idea of no drone.

I paid $244.00 to have a Magnaflow 14 installed back in December. I thought it was reasonable when I had it done. It turned out to be cheaper than buying a Mufflex and doing the work myself.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Ya thats a really good price they will be cutting it and welding it on so youll not have to worry about clamps. Just make sure before they drop it you inspect it so you dont leave with a hack job like i got one time.

Im probably going to offend some exhaust pros reading this, but here goes! I got the Magnaflow 14" muffler. Regular aluminized pipe, not the stainless steel to replace the bends after the muffler. Non-mandrel bends, and didnt replace the y-pipe. $160 installed at local muffler shop. I do live in Louisiana and dont have problem with salt like you guys up north. And honestly, unless your taking it to the track, and maybe not even then, the mandrel bends and y-pipe are just preference. Nothing you would even notice driving. Not sure in the price difference in the 14" and the 24" though. But i love the 14", not loud at all until you hammer it!

I like the sound of the 24" because it is just a low sound.

The one I am curious about is the dynomax vt. The only I have found was a couple of nissan forums running them. Have not seen or heard of an engine bigger than a 3.0 running them.

Buy the muffler then have a muffler shop weld it in. Much cheaper that way. I think I got my 18" Magnaflow + install for $140.

Mufflex is a rip off
