What gearing to go with...
1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys i'm a little new here but i'm looking to decide between 33s and 35s. Gonna buy new wheels next week cause the ones that came with i hate. 17x9. I have 3.92 gears in my 05 4.7 ram and i'm curious would i have to regear it if i decided on 35s? or am i better off with 33s

It all depends on trans, are 392s factory gearing due you have a truetrac? Is it 4*4?
If all above is what you have the question you need to ask is am I going to take this rig offroad and beat on it or just drive and look good if your going to look good your fine at 35s or 33s if your going to beat on it no you will smoke the trans. If you have a true trac diff you need a special adjusting tool for the rear carrier which you can get through OTC for about 60 buck it adjusts just like a ford nine inch. And don't forget about the front has to match the rear. Hope this helps

Yeah its a 4x4. i plan on doing a litte bit of offroading at rausch creek in pa. just the light trails and a little mud. its mainly gonna be a look good truck since i work practically 7 days a week. gas im not too worried about but i don't wanna destroy my tranny. if i do go with 35s will the wheel well look too filled with no lift?

I had 3.92's on my 09 2wd hemi and 285/60 20's and it pulled a trailer with no problem. You should be good with 33's and the 4.7 for what you want.

Ok cool. right now i have 285/50/20 on my truck and i feel like a ding dong wigger or something driving it around when i really wanna go off roading with a few guys i work with. i think 35s would be too much so 33s it is!
