tuning

Was wondering......how much timing have most of you guys been able to run....ive jumped through hoops with timing on this truck....especially since the headers! even with only 16deg commanded i would see timing being pulled.... i run the knock sensors at 5v now to keep the timing where i want...problem is as temps go up i have to manually pull timing to prevent knock....

Do you run a 180 tstat?

What is the factory base timing on these engines? How much knock are you getting?

sprintertech 03-04-2013 11:38 PM

plenty....with only 16deg commanded if seen stknock pull as much as 8deg.....what are you guys running....

Most of us are running custom tunes from hemifever. $125 email tunes that really make a difference

its cmr tuned and im not disappointed with performance...its just most people dont realize whats left on the table due to these over sensitive knock sensors....the only problem is im running with the knock sensors off (my choice) which running like that removes the pcm's ability tune to for knock as temps or conditions change so i have to run high octane fuel and pull some timing as temp go up....other wise it runs pretty well.....just was curious if anyone knew how much timing they were able to get away with running before knock comes in...
