Front end noise: 4wd? Bearing?
I have had a noise coming from the front end. Sounds like it is four wheel drive. Its kind of a winding or drone that is tied to vehicle speed.
I noticed it a few days after using 4wd.
Is it posible that it is partially in 4wd? It is not binding on dry pavement so I know it is not completely in 4wd.
Could it be a wheel bearing? No griding or scratching but I know they were common issues on my '03 ram.
ANy know issues?
Could be a bad wheel bearing and/or it also could be bad tires. I have had both issues on my vehicle. Both front wheel bearings replaced and also the original Good-For-A-Year tires were badly cupped and caused abnormal road noise. Both are common issues with this generation Ram truck.:4-dontknow:
Well, i am definitely having tire issues. I have been shopping online. They are cupped even though they were rotated and aligned often.
Looks like i will be doing that first.
Is the bearing replacement similar to the prior model?
I am not sure on that one. Mine was repaired under warranty.
