Truck Of the Year Sales Declining

The numbers were posted over on Allpar.
http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php...-9-in-february

If it wasn't for our friends in Canada this would really be bad. They nearly doubled. But based upon one of the threads there were a lot of employee/friend of the family purchases and at $20k off list who could refuse.

Maybe that third shift will be short lived.

"Ram pickup build increased for both light-duty and heavy-duty trucks and Durango output soared 50.4%. Production of every Dodge passenger carhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png was up by double digits."
Unless I'm reading the table wrong I don't see any significant difference in trucks sold last year vs. this year other than a few hundred trucks. YTD looks like more Rams. Comments suggested the Ram truck was doing well.

According to that table is looks like sales for the Ram are only down 1.3% in the US and in total numbers including Mexico and Canada sales are actually up from last year.

I would suspect sales will pick up as the 8 speeds hit the lots in large numbers. I know for me I had no desire for the 6 speed and am waiting for the 8.

That is true as well as with a lot holding off for the Crew with 6'4 box just like myself. With all the late availability they have with the 2013 you can bet the numbers won't actually speak till May. Once all the late availabilities have been released.

udontknowjack 03-09-2013 12:25 AM

and how many are holding off for a 2014 diesel power?

If I hit the lottery by then

GTyankee 03-24-2013 09:21 PM

I bet if they counted in the Special Factory Order tickets that are on hold,
That count would be up by 5 or 10%

They (Chrysler) made a promise of Late Availability items & didn't come through as promised
They didn't think there were so many waiting on those Late Availability items

8 speed for the HEMI
3.92 rear differentials
air suspension
added bed lengths
also the RA2 5" touch screen bluetooth radio was held up

Then at the factory storage lot, there are 1,400 Ram either held for Final inspection or transport,
If they ship 1,000 of those, that takes 143 auto transport trucks
& the new Rams are rolling off the line at a fairly rapid rate

GTyankee, don't quote me but I don't beleive that the 3.92 gear is an option with the hemi eight speed trans because of the low first gear. At least it wasn't last I checked but I hope you're right. I want one but not sure so I'm going to wait till the end of the year or for the 14's (RCSB of course)!
