Question

Hey fellas,

I am looking at cutting grass as a side job this season (I know I sound like I'm 10) but I cut grass, plow, and other maintenance where I work. I'm looking to make some extra cash. My problem is getting a trailer. I don't want to buy anything brand new right now b/c I don't have the moolah to do that at the moment.
I'd really like a 14' trailer. Those are hard to find. I found a 16' tandem axle for $1000. New lights, 75% tire life left, frame is in good shape. Only problem is the decking is shot. I think total I'd have maybe $1200 in it when said and done with new wood, plus my time.
Is this a good deal for the size trailer? I think it is, just curious what you all think.

I bought a new 18 footer about 4 years ago, it was a little over $2000. Its tandem axle, brakes on 1 axle, 16' deck with a 2' beaver tail, slide in ramps, treated wood deck.

Does it have brakes on at least one axle? It it does, make sure they work. It sounds a little to much for a used one, but they are really hard to find used in my area.

Yes, it does have brakes on 1 axle. I found a 14 footer for $950 and it was a POS. Made me feel like the $1000 wasn't too bad. I'm waiting him out see if he'll go down to $800.
