Hey guys! I finally slowed down enough to get on and post. I was strongly considering sending my 98 ram to our shredder yard at one point this past week, but reconsidered after remembering that new trucks are insanely overpriced for average folks. LOL!!!
So, I am down to making a list of this to fix:
After I replace the plenum gasket and pan, I need to address the rear axle bearing.
I have a posi rear end that the PO swapped so this isn't what the truck was born with, how to I tell what I have or will it even matter on the bearing? I understand that this job will be bigger than I am really comfortable doing on my own but Peedoodlum IS a nurse so I can count on excellent medical attention should any be neccessary.
Hughes Plenum kit cam in today so tomorrow the fun will begin. If this doesn't work, I may set the truck on fire...or curl up in a ball and rock back and forth for a few hours...LOL!!!!
how long the ol ram burn for?
I think this may help you out.
mopar axle id chart in that search
Got her running smoothly again, so I decided not to set her on fire. LOL! NOw it is time to rest and hope that the rear axle lasts awhile longer...
