How strong are the tailgates

Just how strong are tailgates on these trucks, can i place ramps on them and drive a 600 lb atv up them into the box without damaging anything. I do it on my older f150 and J10 without any problems, anyone doing this to the new rams.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it they'll handle it

No problems, I have put my Bombadeer 4x4 ATV in mine more than a few times last year with no issues.

If i'm not mistaken I remember reading somewhere (think the OM) the tail gate is rated for 900-1000 distributed pounds.

I walk my buell up into the truck(ramps on the gate). The buell is about 390lb wet and I am about 230lb. No issues at all. I wouldn't hesitate anything under 750-1000 lb, I'm not sure of the actual rating though.

The link below may be an eye-opener for you; it was for me.

As easy as it is to take the tailgate off that's the way I go.

Used to put my Suzuki Vinson on my 04 ram tailgate and drive with it sitting on it (strapped in)... I'd think the tailgates are only getting stronger.
