Need tips for first trip to dragstrip in 2012 Ram Express Hemi

im taking my 2012 5.7 hemi ram express, thats a automatic, to the local dragstrip this coming weekend and been doing some reading up on my truck and was looking for some tips to get good et's. the truck is stock except for a in k&n filer and flowmaster exhaust. im wanting to know what gear to start off in because i have tow package so i can maual change with the button on my shifrter. i heard these trucks shift funny from the factory if you leave them in drive, also about taking the j7 fuse out, taking out filter, etc...just looking for the best way to run it at the track and was woundering how you guys do it, thanks

Simply weight reduction doesn't hurt. I would start with dropping the spare tire and pulling the tailgate before you leave the house. Makes it less work at the track if you just leave it at home. And drop your filter. If you have problems hooking up just drop you air pressure down to around 20-25 lbs or until you hook up, good luck man, hope you get some good times, keep us posted

Read the thread right below titled "shifting" I think it will answer your question. I would disable the ESC and T/C, but the tow/haul mode seemed to slow me down while practicing on back roads.
