Dimensions for Test Pipe/Cat Delete Pipe
Hey brothers how's it going? I am the owner of a 2001 Dodge Ram Sport with the 5.9L Magnum powerplant. Lately I've been really wanting to remove my cat, I know these things commonly clog and on top of that I really want to add the extra bit of volume coming from the sweet sweet sounding Flowmaster 40 I have on it. I do not have emissions testing in my state (thank the lord), and I figured why choke it out, let it breathe!
Anyways I was hoping someone (preferably someone who's done this mod themself) could give me the dimensions I need to give the exhaust shop to make a pipe up for me (length, pipe size, opening size of the ends, etc.). No shop will make it up for me if they know its to replace my cat, even though I plan on installing it myself (I have a welder). So I just decided to get the dimensions and just tell them what to make up. If they ask what its for I'll just say its to replace my muffler.
Your helps appreciated. Thanks!
If it's the factory setup then it's 3" in and out and 16" long (over all length).
Replacement CATs are less then $100 and will ensure you don't have O2 sensor issues. By time you bypass the CAT and make the mods to trick the sensors you will likely spend more then buying a new CAT. :4-dontknow:
