Factory Spray in Bedliner vs. aftermarket
I am about to order a new 1500 with Rambox option. I was planning on getting the "spray in bedliner" from the factory for about $475. Are there any pros or cons about going this route as opposed to an aftermarket spray bed liner?

Thanks for any advice!

I would look at cost and the installers. If they aren't going to do it right (Pretty much removing the paint in the bed) then you'd probably be better having the factory do it. I can get it done through my company for around $300-350. honestly for the price difference of having someone do it, I would probably have the Factory do it.

Just my thoughts.

I'm having a local Line-X dealer spray my bed liner when my truck gets to the dealership. It will be about $25 more than the factory option, but it also carries a lifetime warranty. I don't have any experience with Line-X, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. They are using a newer formula, according to the general manager I spoke with on the phone, and it is supposed to be unbelievably durable.

The bed paint is never completely removed but rather cleaned, scuffed, cleaned for adhesion reasons.

The factory spray in just delays delivery
who knows if they give any warranty at all

I would just try to find a coupon from Line-X & get the Lifetime Warranty
Or go with a Bedrug, through the dealership with the Rams head logo
or through any truck outfitter without the Rams Head
they also have a LIMITED Lifetime Warranty

When I got my truck the dealer offered Line-x for 475.00 so I said I could get it cheaper somewhere else then they lowered it to 400.00 with undercoat as well so I went for that. You may be able to work the dealership when your truck is ready?

What do you mean about delaying delivery with the factory spray in bedliner? And thanks for all the suggestions.

I just got my 2013 Ram Sport with the factory spray-in bedliner, and it was the best job that I have ever gotten. I have had Rhino Liner and Line-X in the past. The factory outsources it, but there is a facility on-site that they are done at. Delays the truck by about a week with the current backlog.

Congrats Judd.

About time....

No kidding, Eddie! I'll post pictures tomorrow after it gets the bedcover on it. I still need to level it and put the AMP power running boards on it.
