Old vs New (internals)

Are the older 4.7 internals the same as the 09+ 4.7? Crankshaft, pistons?

snrusnak 04-01-2013 01:48 PM

Not sure, why do you ask?

I recall reading that the new 4.7L has higher compression ratio, which may mean different piston, or it could all be in the head, not sure...

Future upgrade in internals. I noticed AIRRAM sales these parts for the older 4.7. So I can dump a 200 shot without a problem haha.. Thought in process

Gotcha. I believe in your case yes it would work. The engine is pretty much dimensionally identical. Main revisions were in the top end.

You ought to consider going to a turbo or super charged setup. Run that a long with the nitrous to make big power. Nitrous is a good complement to boost(it cools the charge).

(BTW, make your spark plug thread!)

Supercharger or the remote mount turbo set-up from SLP. If you go to the AIRRAM website they have a yellow jacket project going on. Supercharging a 4.7L with a M112 IIRC

The guy he's helping with that has an EXTENSIVE thread on another forum (with ALOT of pictures).

I had been watching that and thought it came to a halt since I hadn't seen any updates. Glad he's continued it, looks like a fun project.
