19.3 MPG at 72 MPH

Just got back from a little trip - - total of 438-miles.

ACTUAL MPG was 19.3

EVIC showed 19.5

I am impressed ! ! With the MPG and how accurate EVIC is.

This is a HEMI, with a 3.92 rear end -- RAM 1500 Quad Cab.

Drive was round trip Seattle and Portland, so it is pretty flat on I-5.

Bet I could get at least 22 MPG in Nebraska, if I kept it at 60 MPH. But who can drive one of these that slow.

Cheers,
Balloo

Empty, or full family in the truck, carrying any extra weight?

Easy, I can and do. :D

I see similar numbers keeping my speeds down on hilly terrain. If I were to run at 70+, I would drop to the mid teens. I'm getting ready to head out on another road trip in the Ram this weekend.

I took my 8 speed onto the freeway for the second time today. EVIC was showing 22+ mpg at 70, with AC running. But the slightest hill, even an overpass, dropped the instantaneous fuel mileage to single digits.

My average for the trip was 19.9 though.
