How to plug master cylinder while making repairs

Hi,
I'm starting an ambition job, at least for my skill level, of replacing a broken steel 3/16" brake line located in the frame right around the gas tank.
I have one very basic newby type question, as I work on the brake lines, how do i plug them so the Master Cylinder resevoir doesn't drain completely out, which I'm told if it does requires bench bleeding?

I've already got a set of flare wrenches, a Double Flaring Tool Set, a roll of 3/16" line and a kit of connectors. ...and some good goggles to prevent any splattering into my eyes.

Anything else I need?

Wish me luck!
Wayne

In this situation, I would use a syringe to suck the fluid out the reservoir. If you were going to reuse it make sure you store it in a bottle that has no water in it. I would most likely replace the fluid with a synthetic brake fluid.

what you should do is wedge the brake pedal down with a pry bar. that will prevent the fluid from dripping out of the line during repair.
