Fred Diaz moves to Nissan...

Not sure if this is the right place to post or not but this is breaking news for those who follow the industry:

So far, apparently Chrysler / Fiat has had no comment...

I just saw that. Pretty unusual departure. I hope that's not a sign of bad things to come.

Fred Diaz Leaving

Just saw that Diaz is leaving Chrysler to be a divisional VP at Nissan. Wonder what that means for the future of Ram trucks. Also what it means for the Nissan Titan? Any thoughts?

I saw the news just this evening on USA Today. It may be a sign of better things to come. You never know.

GTyankee 04-13-2013 03:22 AM

could it be he was asked to leave ?
the 3500s still are not out & the heavy duty Ram was his baby
he was the head man in Saltillo Mexico

Ford Apostate 04-13-2013 07:53 AM

If he was asked to leave, the news would be coming from Chrysler and not Nissan. Even then it's very strange that Chrysler has no comment about it. It must be a surprise to them. Diaz has been with Chrysler for 24 years, started off at the bottom.

The person/people responsible for keeping the same old crappy 545rfe/65rfe in the 1500's instead of going with the real "NEW" six speed 66rfe needs to go too (hope he was one of them)! They just reprogramed the 545rfe pcm to save money and deceived the public into beleiving it was a new six speed. The 66rfe would have made an excellent transmission for the hemi 1500 model....good riddance!
