Is it possible to change an order?

My dealer has a 3500 SLT with an Aisin that has a VIN assigned but not in production yet.

Is it possible to change that order and make it into a Laramie or is it too late once the VIN is assigned?

Not sure about changing the truck completely but I have a sport on order and they changed it for me. A couple weeks in after discovering this site I realized I made a huge mistake not getting the sport hood. I ask my sales rep and he contacted Chrysler. About a week later they responded and said they changed my order. But I had to take it at msrp. $775

I would say if you really want it they may change it for you. Might not get as good of a deal though. Even if the order can't be changed they may just take it for their lot if they think it will sell easily and start a new order for you. I'd say give your sales guy a call and see what happens.

I'm gonna say that if you already have your VIN changing the entire trim of the truck probably isn't an option. If it was something little like The1 Ture Outlaw's example you could probably get it done. But going from an SLT to a Laramie is a big step. It's always worth a shot though. Contact your dealer and see what they say.

The reason I want to do this is because the Aisin transmissions are already allocated so the best I can hope for is to buy a stock order truck or to find a similar truck with an Aisin allocated to it and change the order.

No once a VIN is issued it cannot be changed to another trim as trim level is psecified within the VIN
