tires turning blue

so I noticed my tires were tinted blue on the whole street facing side.

did a quick google and read it's from the hard metals in the mud and that it goes away in a week or so. anyone heard of or experienced this? I'm not worry about it, just interested. got it washed and tire shines today and they look fine.

should have took a pic but I got it washed before I decided I'd post about it

Never heard of this before.. but maybe your tires just wanted to blend in with the truck?
It is a shame you couldn't grab a picture.. Would have been cool to see.

hahaha here come the jokes. I think it's pretty bad ass. instead of being a poser in a big truck, I have proof that it's not a pavement princess. the blue tires and the 100 scratches down the whole entire side that look atrocious

Meh.. Coulda been a pavement princess playing in a muddy parking lot when it was raining.. and no flares and a dark paint.. All scratches show easy.. Best part bout silver... hides so much and always looks fairly clean.

these aren't mine, but this is exactly what it looked like:

some guy said he saw a mil spec for hummer tires and there was a blurb about the pH/nitrogent content of the mud and reacting with the tires or something. But it's not permanent and can usually be scrubbed off or fades.
