Factory Order Tracking Codes
VOTS Tracking informational codes
To use the VOTS, customers need to give their email address, their first name and last name (along with typical required information) to the dealer sales person when the order is being filled out. Giving the dealer your email address will enable you to receive the VIN via email once it is generated.

The know when and how it's going out.. Customer service probably doesn't but the factory knows. If they didn't, they CS wouldn't have access to the estimated delivery date and the factory storage lot would be in chaos...
BTW, that 100% inspection thing... that's bogus, if it's in JS status. Look at the below status codes. If a truck is actually being inspected it goes into status KZ OA.
I - unit built, pending final inspection
J - vehicle passed final inspection but not released to carrier
JB - shipped to body vendor
JE - shipped to emissions
JJ - consigned to body vendor
JS - shipped to storage
KZ - released by plant and invoiced

KZ OD - mechanical failure, glass damage, vehicle in repair, lacking parts or storage hold
KZ OE - misdropped or misshipped vehicle

Ram 2500 Ordered
On Dec 12, 2014 I ordered a
Ram 2500 Laramie 2x4 longbed Deep Cherry Red, Black interior
Leather Bucket Seats
Center High-mount Stop Lamp w/Camera
Chrome Body Side Molding
Power Chrome Trailer Tow Mirrors/power fold away
5th Wheel / Gooseneck Towing Prep group
Sprayed in bed liner
Wheel to Wheel side steps
Anti-spin differential rear axle
Remote start system
After 1 month I haven't heard anything from the dealer.
Sent an e-mail today asking
If the truck was ordered
If so what is the order number
If a vin number is available
After looking at several dealers inventory I find very few 2500 trucks
available of any model.
Is there a problem with production?
This is the 4th or 5th Ram I have bought from this dealer, however it
dealing this time is very much in doubt if I go back to them again.
Still taking 2015 orders?
I just placed an order for a new 3500 Laramie 4x4 crew cab last week on 03/18/15. Today, on the TDR forum I saw a post that the Factory stopped taking orders for 2015 trucks on 03/15/15. They said no new orders will be going in until mid-May, and those will apparently be for 2016 trucks.
I hadn't heard back from the dealer that there were any issues with my order, but I was still a little more than concerned. I emailed my salesman and he said based on the VON, it looks like the order has gone in and he's telling me a VIN has been assigned to the order. How can I track the build progress without having to bug him on a regular basis?
Just got off the phone with the dealer. My order is currently at D1 (qued to be built). He said they'd call me with the vin as soon as one is produced. Soooo excited. 2015 Ram R/T Bluestreak Pearlcoat ordered March 13, 2015. :)
The V.O.T.S. no longer is an option for tracking the Building & Transportation
You can track your New Ram by going to the Thread on this site, called something like:
2015 Ram Status, where is my truck?
SPP updates the postings usually Monday - Friday
All you have to do is request that he follow your VON/VIN for you & post PIX of your vehicle when it is delivered
You should read the notes that answer several questions at the bottom of any of his posts
In a very short while, maybe just a few days, the dealerships will stop taking orders that have to be built down in Mexico. 2500 - 5500 4 doors & the Ram standard cab 2 door models
Ram 1500 4 door models will continue to be ordered though most of May
From the sounds of it I should've received at least the VON at time of ordering?
He told me there wasn't a VIN yet but from what I've read, when it enters D1, it should already have a VIN assigned.
Also, I did not realize my truck was being made in Mexico. I thought for sure it was being built at Warren. Not too sure if it really makes much difference time wise? Warren being a lot closer to Canada than Saltillo.
In Saltillo they build the 2500 - 5500 Rams as well as the Standard cab Rams
In Warren they build the 4 door Ram 1500s
The Chrysler Assembly Plant in Saltillo Mexico is newer then the Warren plant & the paint jobs are better, at least from what i have read
