2013 V6 Crew Cab Outdoorsman 4x4 Pictures and Initial Thoughts
I picked up my truck a few days ago. I am very happy with it.
Its an Outdoorsman Crew Cab V6 8 Speed with the 3.55 rear end and on/off road tires.
Mods done so far:
Access Toneau Cover
Mopar Chrome Bed Rails
Cabin Air Filter
Many more to come.
It has less than 400 miles on it.
With about 50/50 city and hwy. I am averaging 17.5 MPG.
I did about 200 miles road trip on mostly interstate doing 70 mph. I averaged 19 MPG.
I am hoping it increases after a little (1 - 2 MPG) after break in, but so far I can't complain.
Love the radio and cluster. I got the 8.4an. It works really well, no issues so far.
I also really like the two tone canyon brown interior. I have received tons of compliments regarding it.
The Western Brown paint was something I had a hard time deciding on. I am so glad I picked it.
Great small features:
The factory fender flares look great.
Heated steering wheel.
My only two complaints:
I wish the full size trucks would stop growing in size. It barely fits in my garage. I first wanted a mid-size truck, but because that market is basically gone and the fullsize have better bang for your buck and the same or better MPG.
With the 8.4 screen there is no hard button for changing where the air for the heater/AC is coming from (Floor, Vents, Combination). The rest of the heating and cooling can be controlled by hard buttons, which makes it easy to change while driving.
Looks good man. Trying to decide between an Outdoorsmen and a Sport right now.
Nice truck, congrats on a great looking Full size
Great looking truck.....Congrats......
Hey man looks good. I have a slt with the v6 8speed. I love it. I do find though that I wish it shifted quicker. I find aftet going up a hill once t downshifts it take a while to drop back to 8th gear once your not o the hill anymore. What do you think?
I did notice one thing while driving tonight. That you you can't over ride it and shift up. Lets say you are in 7th, you can't shift up to 8th. Which i am assuming it does that to make sure you have enough power.
I have to say I do like that color a lot. I can't complain about the size of my 2013 CC since it doesn't go in my garage but after driving a 2013 QC rental it feels small and cramped compared to the CC
I didn't think I liked that color initially but now it is growing on me. Nice Truck!
Can you list your full options?
I am a bit disappointed in your fuel mileage and hope it goes up a bit as I was hoping for 20-21 with the 6.
You may also wish to crawl up under it and check the rear axle to see what the sticker says. I was going to buy a V6 that I had found with the 3.55 on the window sticker as an extra charge. Before I finished negotiations I asked the manager to send someone out and physically check. It was a 3.21 to my utter disappointment as this was the only vehicle I had found that was close to my specs.
OP, nice truck I like that color I had a 63 chevy ss cordon brown very similar color.
v6guy, I am on the fence about buying. What kind of mpg are you getting. I like the v6 but I can't get it in the Laramie. Just wondering what the mpg diff is?
I really do like the color. I have received many compliments on the color.
I think I will be able to hit 19 - 20 average. I will double check the rear end but the outdoorsman only came with the 3.55. The 3.21 would have been better for mileage. I also have the more aggressive tires (on/off road), which don't help either for MPG.
I might increase the tire diameter to get the equivalent of the 3.21, but I am unsure. I think I will see what I get once it warms up and I get a few miles on it.
