2010 Ram Running Bar replacement

I hope someone can help me out here. :4-dontknow:

A friend just emailed me tonight because Dodge replaced her Factory step bars with new ones, but she thinks they are on backwards...

I dont have the step bars on my truck, so im hoping someone can help. FWIW its a 2010 Larime CC. here are the pics.

She believes that the curved end of the bars should be facing the rear of the vehicle, yet hers are installed facing the front.

thanks for looking. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Yup. They're put on the wrong sides. Switch em left-right.

Bad info.

The curved part of the step goes forward. Look at the brackets. They only go onto the bars one place and are not evenly spaced. The body mounts are also only in one place. So they can only be installed one way, the correct way. (on a QC or CC)

To ease your mind, look at the install instructions below. You will see the curve to the front as well as the larger distance from the bracket to the end of the bar in the front. The rear bracket almost to the rear of the bar. Same as the pictures posted above.

How did they switch them? The bolt holes are not symetrical? They must of drilled new holes in the bars for the center bracket.

good question..ill look tomorrow at work...

i honestly dont think they are MOPAR original parts, so maybe they can go on both ways, but who knows...

I'm curious, why did the dealer replace them? I have one that looks like some of the finish has come off and is starting to corrode. The dealer told me last week that he needed to send pictures to Chrysler Canada before they can do anything so I'm now waiting to hear back.
