Plenum Leaking?

after reading people who had this problem i am beginning to think i may have the same problem, before i put on the glasspack the motor had a slight tick and it has always been slow and feels bogged down, i heard to look down into the throttle body and see if there is oil present, i am assuming with engine off? also can this problem only show by a ticking and being sluggish, like will there be smoke from the exhaust or oil level dropping i want to get a second opinion before i remove the intake, it is kind of a pain in the ass

you are correct. With the engine off, remove the air filter and take a look down through the throttle body. If you see any pooled oil, you have a blown plenum gasket.

my symptoms were rough idle, low power, bad mileage(9mpg), oil consumption(1 quart per tank of gas). I did not have a noticeable amount of smoke out the tail pipe.

I took some pics of my plenum repair and posed them here:http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=127559

Good Luck,

Filth
