Quick linex question
I did not add the spray in liner to my truck because I prefer linex over the factory. It's looking like money will be tight for a little while after my truck is delivered so it might be a while before I can get it sprayed. My dealer told my the beds of these trucks are galvanized and will not rust. With that being said, if I scratch the bed of my truck all up and then get it sprayed will that matter at all? I can't see why but thought I would ask so I know if I should just not use my bed until I can get it sprayed.

Wont matter, scratches even to the metal wont show thru. Dents will. Get it when you can afford it, but dont worry to much in the mean time.

Is it true that the beds are galvanized? My dealer hasn't been a wealth of knowledge so far. Also, does that galvanized metal extend to the tailgate?

Really not sure. I would like to think they are. I went over a year before I did line-x and had some pretty deep scratches with no rust. Then again I am in cali so rust doesnt happen much out here. Either way, its not like it is gonna rust through in that time. A little sureface rust wont hurt anything and will be sanded off in the prep process.

The metal bodies (bed included) have been two sided galvanized for many years. My '94 Ram's bed has been beaten up and scratched pretty bad with heavy use. Even with all of the deep scratches and dents, it has very little surface rust. It came with a drop in over the rail bed liner from dealer, but when I found the liner was rubbing the paint off in certain areas, I removed it and haven't used it since. Spray in bed liners are the way to go.

That's good to know. It seems like I have read a lot of rust issues on here. Mainly with the bumpers I guess.

Can always get a bed mat to keep some of the damage down for now. Also you can check where you are I know with the economy a lot of places down here offer payment plans. Helps them keep business going b

Do ya'll feel $550 for Linex Premium (no Color fade) is a good price? They also offered $225 to do the W2W Nerfs.

I think I paid closer to $600 for my premium 2 years ago. Looks like a good price to me. There is a $25 coupon on the linex website you can print out also.
