Laramie grill change
I like chrome but not as much as the grill on the Laramie. I had a "We Owe" from the dealer for a remote start that they were unable to install so I decided to replace the grill with a Long Horn grill. I had the SLT grille on my last 3 trucks so I wanted something different. The grill change can be done in 3 minutes with only a 10 mm wrench and a body fastener removal tool.

Laramie grill

I first had to extract 6 push in body fasteners on the cover over the rad and the grill. 3 on each side,

I had to remove 4 10mm bolts ob the top of the grill under the cover

Here is picture of the old grill and the cover. Remove the 4 top bolts and pull on the bottom of the grill to release 4 push in fasteners and the grill comes off.

Here is a picture of grill shutters in the open position.

And the new grill installed.

Any one needing a complete 2013 Laramie grill assembly with badge I have one I will let go for a reasonable price. Used only 3 weeks

Why couldn't they install the remote start? I had the factory remote start added to my truck.

Only because it has the Enter-N-Go system

I like the Longhorn grill, something to consider

Thanks for the post. It gives me confidence to take mine off now and look into getting a grill surround and having it painted in Black Gold. I like my Longhorn Grill inserts the best, but I think I might want to get the grill surround painted in Black Gold.

I assume 2013 grilles do not fit the older models (I have a 2011 sport).

I really like the new sport grill (and lights, and interior... yada, yada, yada...) and I was wondering if:

a. the grilles are interchangable, or
b. someone is coming out with a grill that looks like a 2013 but fits a 2011

A. with in the same model years 09-12 yes 13 and up yes till they change them again and same models yes. although 09 2500's are still on gen 3 body

B. NO would be my guess.

Interested in the Laramie grill, how much? Also your truck also has the active grill shutters correct?
