Bully Dog tuner
Looking into getting the Bully Dog GT for Hemi Plus for my 4.7l. I've heard bad things and good things about this tuner but it's the only option i have. What are the things it can do? Alot of you know I'll be lifting my truck soon and if i purchase the tuner now can i input my tire size after the lift if the tuner is installed? Are the instructions that come with it good? If not does anyone have any other instructions? Thanks.

get the tuner

yes you can change the tire size

it can be set to different "canned tunes" that will HELP performance/mpg and improve shifting.

I'm sure the directions are very good that come with it, if not the technical support for these types of devices is very good if you call them.

You are 19, I'm sure you have an intuitive mind and can figure it out just fine.

The only people I know running the GT for Hemi Plus on their 4.7's is Asur and myself and neither of us have any complaints with it. It is honestly the best thing I've bought for my truck. You won't be dissappointed!

Check out Bully Dogs website. It will answer all your questions. Here's a link to the GT for Hemi Plus tuner:

Go to the technical page, it will show you all the features available for your truck (which will be the same as mine).

The tuner only comes with basic instructions on how to install the update agent, download the latest software version, and install it into the truck. Nothing more than that. There aren't any instructions specifically for the GT for Hemi plus but the instructions for the GT gas will tell you everything you need to know. They are essentially the same unit just for different applications. Here's the link for them:

I'd definitely recommend reading through all the instructions thoroughly before you install the tuner. It's really nice to know all the little functions and what they do as you're installing it that way you will pretty much get everything right the first time. There's also little notes throughout it that tell you important "what to do" and "what not to do" things. It isn't worth rushing and risking screwing up your computer or something. Take your time and do it right.

DAP is definitely a great place to get it from. They will get you the lowest price and have amazing shipping times. I literally got mine less than 24 hours after ordering it.

I'd also recommend getting the A-pillar gauge mount and pod adapter for a clean install. Looks way nicer than having just the suction cup mount. Here are some pictures of it installed in my truck.

Also, here's a link to my thread that has some additional information about the tuner and my experience with it in case you're interested

Thank you so much for the info i'll definitely read through everything when i get home later! Do you have to keep this in your vehicle at all times or no?

Nope, you don't have to. You can just plug it in, install the tune and all your settings, and then remove it. I keep it in for the gauge readouts, driving coach, performance testing, fuel economy, etc. Plus it makes it really easy to change settings on the fly or install a new tune.

Very good i really didnt want to keep it in the truck haha but i can change my mind when everything comes.
